Over 50s

TheOldBoys

We warmly welcome over 50s and value their wisdom, experience and sense of fun. They are actively involved in every area of church life and mingle with people of all ages. Many join in with country walks, park runs and quiz nights or volunteer to help at our children's holiday clubs.

Most church members are linked to a small group for Bible discussion, prayer and support. They meet around the city in church members' homes most Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. There's also a women's group on Thursday mornings and occasional weekend events for men, and a short course for those exploring the Christian faith or who want a refresher on the basics for beginners. Contact us if you would like to try a group.

A slice of life is a group for over 50s of all faiths or none, at 10.30am on the second Monday of every month except August. We meet to make friends over coffee and cake, and each meeting has activities or a guest speaker on a theme. Activities have included crafts, sharing gardening tips, or tasting our way through a history of chocolate. We've welcomed guest speakers who've written books, lived behind the iron curtain, and played professional football. Each month a church member shares a little about their story or faith.

We welcome people of all faiths or none to come and visit any Sunday at 10.30am or 5pm or you can watch from home online to get an idea of what to expect. If you are new to all this, you won’t be alone. We'd love to answer questions and get to know you.

I hope to meet you soon.
