Hiring rooms

St Matthew's church buildings are now open to all bookings. Our rooms are well-ventilated and spacious with extra regular cleaning. Our listed victorian church has been refurbished with modern facilities and is flexible, attractive and well equipped. We've hosted a wide range of successful events and groups including: clubs and classes; dance, band or choir performances; soft play, lectures and movie nights.

Church hall - up to 30 people
A large open space suitable for active groups or chairs can be set out. We have set a limit of 30 people socially distanced (at full capacity there is room for 70 people in rows, or 48 adults and 24 children around tables). There is a smaller hall through double doors, which can also be subdivided in two, and an enclosed outdoor space with space for 20 garden chairs, partially covered by a fixed gazebo. Fully equipped small kitchen with crockery and cutlery, gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, hot water urn and trolley. £13/hour for regular users, (normally £24/hour for occasional use).

Smaller room - up to 15 people
The smaller hall
can be hired separately for discussion groups. £7/hour for regular users, (normally £12/hour occasional use).

We have enough seats for 300 people, mostly padded stackable chairs that can be rearranged as you prefer. Currently we are setting a limit of 150 people to allow 1m social distancing and ventilation. If 2m social distancing is wanted, or if guests are not attending in household groups but individually, then we suggest a limit of 100 people.
